What is your role at TCS? I’m an Account Manager based in Hobart
How long have you been with TCS? Started in March 2023, so nearly made three months.
Where did you come from? I was employed as the Collections Manager at MyState Bank for 26.5 years until I was made redundant, primarily dealt with loan arrears and working with customers to get back on track either via a payment arrangement or hardship assistance. Also looked after legal proceedings.
Tell me about your role? Primarily contacting customers to get debts repaid, ideally in full at first contact but a mutually agreeable payment arrangement if they cant do so. My approach if very much “You get more flies with honey than vinegar”. But if need be pushing through to a claim & judgment if they are not working with us.
What’s your favourite thing about coming to work? We have a great small team of very knowledgeable staff who have made me feel very welcome in my first three months.
What floats your boat?
Work – Getting some of our large debts paid in full (in particular in one hit), but even the smaller ones too. Getting a good result for our clients after they have been unsuccessful to get the customer to pay.
Personal – I am the coach of my daughters soccer team and seeing the improvement in them, half the team hadn’t played before this year, its really satisfying.
